Ann Laura Stoler is Willy Brandt Distinguished University Professor of Anthropology and Historical Studies at the The New School for Social Research in New York City. 〔 http://www.newschool.edu/nssr/faculty.aspx?id=10416 〕 She holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from Columbia University. Her regional focus has been Southeast Asia.
